    This course focuses on the development of new venture business models. While the primary focus is on the new venture start-up context, the material also applies to existing companies that endeavor to introduce entrepreneurial growth strategies into their broader corporate growth strategies.  Specifically, we will cover the following: 

    1. The critical ingredients to a new venture business model, and business model innovation
    2. The process of developing a complete business model
    3. Different types of business models, including platform-based  business models
    4. Principles of lean start-up and customer discovery 
    5. Scaling the New Venture
    6. AI and New Venture Strategy

    The course will consist of a series of cases and lectures, where case write-ups will be performed in groups.

    Prereq: Cannot enroll if taken 34102 previously.

    • Group Case Write-Ups: 35%

    • Participation: 25%

    • Individual final exam (take home): 40% due Sept 12th at 5pm Central
