Corporation Finance (35200)

The course analyzes the major financial decisions made by corporate management. These include the firm's choice of investments (capital budgeting or project valuation), financing (capital structure or debt/equity decision), and dividend policy, as well as other issues such as mergers and acquisitions. The importance of market imperfections such as taxes, incentive problems, and information costs is examined.
Bus 30000, 33001, 35000, & 41000 (or 41100). A working knowledge of a spreadsheet package is expected. Cannot enroll in BUSN 35200 if BUSN 20410 taken previously.
The textbook is Brealey and Myers, Principles of Corporate Finance, with some additional readings in the packet. For the first class, read Brealey and Myers, chapters 1-3.
Based on problem sets, cases, a mid-term and final exam in the following formula: 12% homework + max (48% final + 40% mid-term, 88% final). Bonus points can be earned by superior class participation.
